It's been a really long time since i've added an entry
i've actually been thinking that i should move my blog to Blogger.com - seeing that i have a widget that directly submits to it now...
but we'll see
so what's been going on?
nothing much really
but then again i always say that right?
First - i've finished two new gundams - an MG Freedom and a Perfect Grade Strike Rouge
both are now proudly displayed in my display case
Currently i'm trying to figure out how to install a bunch of LED's into STrike
i have they eye's wired so far
but if anyone's interested - just message me and i'll be glad to send ya pictures of my work :-D
other than the model building - just resting
relaxing
My Friend Sri asked me recently - if anything really bother's me
and i couldn't answer him
i don't really think about things
i go from one task to another
i don't know if it's a good way or bad way to go about my life
but that's what it is for now
not that i'm running away - or hiding something
it's just the way it is
well that's all i feel like saying for now

so i'm back in the US.
first off i just want to say that it's nice to be home
but dang Hong Kong was pretty cool - it's changed a lot since last i went in '96
first off - since the airport moved it's a lot quieter in Kowloon
and because the airport is gone - they've started puting up all these high rise apartment buildings
so let's see
first off - i didn't get airsick - seriously this is the first time i haven't puked my gutts out for six hours
man i was so happy
i was able to eat - and actually somewhat enjoy the flight
well as much as one can - when one is stuck in the cabin of an airplane for over 14 hours
i had dinner with every uncle and aunt that was in hong kong
so it was non-stop seafood and shopping
which was really fun
but i'll break it down further some other time

takes the monotony out of my daily routine

and i also finally got my queen sized bed

So once again - it's been a long time since last update
i wonder if anyone is still reading this thing
well anyways
going to be coming home for thanksgiving
probably leave for SJ on wednesday night
and head back to LA on SUnday with my dad
he's going to be staying with me in LA for the week
just to hang out and check out my house ane neighborhood
after that i'll be heading back to SJ to fly to Hong Kong
from Dec22 til jan11
yay - i haven't been back to HK in like 9 years - ever since JUnior year of HS
it should be fun
nothing much has happened over here
house is kinda shaping up
all i know is it is a black pit of death for my cash
i went from having a surplus every month - to actually going negative last month
sniff sniff
going to be a very sparce christmas this year
work is decent - things are starting to slow down - our business is pretty seasonal so the orders kinda slow down this time of year - seeing that most companies already have their stock for christmas
baring any emergencies - should be smooth sailing till the end of the year
as for hobbies
kinda on hold
although i am going to irvine today to go look at cars w/ my cousin
he's hell bent on getting an EVO....sigh
i want my STi
so that's about it...
life hasn't changed much - a little poorer - feel a little more responsible
things seem to be getting better - now that it's less hectic
i actually have time to be myself for a while
so for all those that have been wondering - i'm doing good

Well it was a pretty good weekend
had a housewarming on saturday
about half the people that said they would come showed up
but still - i think it was better that way
it was a bit more manageable.
So thanks to all the people that showed up
and made the evening a good one
we had lunch of burgers / steak / hotdogs
along with crab chip dip and a appetizer platter
and then it was 3 hours of karoke
couple hours of poker
and then finally about an hour of Scene it Board Game
heh - was quite an interesting evening
other than that - just doing some soul searching
and trying to figure out what's going on in this head of mine
so i'll get back to that some other time
but for now
just go with the flow and smile
hopefully life'll take me someplace interesting
if not - at least i'll enjoy the view from down here

YAY....
another past - that's probably a week apart fromt he last
so let's see - nothing much has been going on
like i said - built my display case - and got all the gundams into it
currently looking for a full / queen size bed
got a new tv stand - so now the living room looks better
so the todo list is
1) fix couch
2) by new bed
3) book case
4) another display case
5) fully unpack and orgainze
6) rent a carpet steamer
7) clean clean clean - before the parents see the place
man it is seriously a blast to own a house
though the payments really hurt
and it seems that money keeps running out of my like water
but anyways - that's it for now
just trying to keep up with all the things i have to do - to get this place fully up and running

Well here's another post
after a long hiatus due to the move
i am now fully moved in
Although - tonight will be the first night that i can actually sleep in the house
chinese superstition requires me to not setup - or even move anything into my bedroom till today
so tonight will be the first night that i will sleep at my new place.
so now that all my stuff is in
gotta setup all my schtuff - you can imagaine a couple of trips to Ikea - and such
so CHeers!!! here's to new furniture

Well - finally got a breather for an update
so let's see - things at work are decent
Dan - the old CAD Manager is back - as a contractor
so he's picking up some of the slack that i couldn't finish
which is really really good
man last night
everytime i closed my eyes - i was dreaming that i was doing layouts.....
wtf
was the most unrestful sleep i've ever had
So you can imagaine, with all the cad work
and all the production work
i'm running back and forth - meeting after meeting
i barely sit in my chair for 20 mins these days
but enough about work
my house is all set -
escrow should close either Tomorrow or Friday
WEEEE!!!!!
and i'll get the keys when escrow closes
so if all goes well i could probably start moving stuff in this weekend
with the final push labor day weekend
.....
getting closer to owning my own pad
don't really have much furniture
but it should be pretty nice :-)
so that's about it for now - other than work and the house
haven't really even had time to watch anime

Well it's been a while
so where do i begin
let's see - escrow in my house closes pretty soon
so i've been packing and semi-cleaning at the same time
all ready to move
can't wait to have my own pad

as for work - busy as ever
frankly it's kicking my ass
beeing the production engineer - prototyping - reverse engineering - cad manager - cad operatore - (maintenance helper) - by proxy because the current maintenance manager is an idiot - and is getting most of my guys fired.....
j-sus ch-ist - it's pissing me off
so far i've been able to keep up - but shit - i'm getting burned out
eh - enuf bitching....

came home for the weekend for my cousin Cheryl's wedding
as of right now i'm sitting at my uncle's just chilling - before the reception.
so update - i got my house in fullerton - so now i'm just waiting for all the paperwork to go through and the 45 day's for escrow to close so i can move in
i'm hoping to move in the last week of august or the first week of september
other than that - things at work are pretty decent
things at the apt could be better
even though i'm haven't spent much time there
but that's a whole other story
don't really understand what's going on - but hey - hopefully it'll change before i move out

Well happy belated 4th
mandeep dropped by and gave a visit
saw josh too - man he's got some interesting hair
too bad ankur wasn't kind enough to grace us with his presense
otherwise we woulda had a 424 reunion
didn't really do much this weekend
kinda just chilled - lazed around
went to Pink's hotdog on Sunday
went to marina del rey yesterday to watch fireworks
kinda stank - because there was fog and low hanging clouds
but the finale was pretty badass
other than that -
everything's pretty much the same at work
learning to do layouts now
cuz i'm going to be incharge of the CAD dept for a while
so that's about it
oh and still looking for a house to buy
so far still no luck - nothing that's really coming out and biting me

So went to Mimi's house warming yesterday

and just kinda talked to the people that were there

so all in all a pretty good time
this time didn't drink - so i wasn't down by midnight ;-)
so let's see - been thinking about a lot of things lately
mainly about what i've done so for in my life
and i kind of feel that i haven't really accomplished much
i haven't done what i've wanted to do
but then i start to think - What exactly DO i want to do?
and i still can't answer that question
The job i have is challenging in it's own way
but i can honestly say - it's not where i want to be for the next 5 or 10 years
it's a good stepping stone, not to mention a hell of a lot of experience
but i want to do something more - kinda leave my mark on SOMETHING
but i'm still thinking - so.... i'll just leave it at that.

3 day week

Well it's been a while since i updated
so here goes
was a pretty good weekend
got a lot of chores done
things that i've been meaning to get to
like buy a vacuum cleaner
clean the apt
etc... stuff like that
spent most of sunday building a gundam

got myself a new gundam - unfortunately - the rain is hindering me from painting the pieces
unless i want to get high off paint fumes
hopefully i can make it in time for the gundam competition
yeah yeah i know i'm a big fat nerd for doing that
but hey - it's kinda fun
and i'm sure SRI would now agree :-)
so no complaints

Man thanksgiving was short
too short
so now i took two days extra off for christmas
i'll be home from wednesday till monday for christmas
mwahahahah
anyways
won't be home for new years though
have to work on the 31st
inventory
so let's see thanksgiving
wednesday - hung out with the parents
seeing that everyone was at work
had breakfast with mom
washed / waxed / fixed the car
did a bunch of errands / chores
Thursday - turkey day
more family stuff
this time hung out with my uncle/aunt - and the two cute cousins
had lunch with em - watched incredibles - then had the big family dinner
prime-rib - pork and the fixin's
friday - more stuff with parents - then poker till round 230 am
saturday - Moscone Center for International Auto Show
with the parents
so pretty much didn't get to hang out much with everyone back home
but hopefully christmas will be a little different
hey - maybe you guys could come down for New Years????
heh - my apt's always open to guests

So Halo2 is still pretty cool
though it's starting to lose it's thunder
thank god it's only a two day week for me
i seriously need some time off
went to work today and completely lost all energy
kinda walked around like a zombie
and that's not good - seeing that i could get run over
by a forklift
weekend was pretty neat
went to a benefit concert for Project Education
Ankur/VJ/Sendal's?/ (not quite sure how you spell it)
non-profit org
"Penn Masala" - an acapella group - gave a pretty good concert
then hung out with the indian crew for a while
heh - it's truly been a while
guess i really do miss the college days
other than that - like i said before - looking forward to the week ahead
rest - relaxation - shopping - eating - sleeping - and chill'n
man it's gonna be a short five days

Man people are way too good at Halo2
learning curve is pretty darn steep
even for me
can't figure how they kill so quickly

i am looking forward to a relaxing weekend
Ankur's non-profit org - has a concert saturday
so i'm going to that
there's an after party - but we'll see if i go to that
even though it's been a while since i hung out with the indian posse
don't know if my body can handle it
after four weeks of hectic work
i think it's finally saying PLEASE STOP
i am completely out of energy these days
sigh
like i said - work is quickly killing me
i enjoy the power
the responsibility
but shit - i'm getting tired
now i understand why managers go crazy after a while
it's a lotta stress dealing with the people above and below

Well my interesting days just don't end
had a decent day at work - had a lot to do
but wasn't too stressed
then
on my way home from work - around 7 miles into my drive
this loud noise starts coming from somehwere
takes me a little while to figure out it's my car
and i pull over to the left shoulder
i look out my window and see that the back left tire is blown out
i call road side assistance - and right when i finish talking to the
a tow-truck pulls up and offers to help me with my flat
apparently it's a highway safety truck - so it's free
BADASS!!!!!
so once they put up my spare - they let me go on my way
i drive home - to Pep Boys - to get my tires replaced
i was gonna replace all four anyways - but i was going to do it this weekend
guess my tires had something else in mind
so anyways - get to pep boys
my tires are 195/60/15R V rated tires
and lo an behold - that's the ONLY tire that'll work on my car - and there are only two brands that make V-rated at my size - Michelin and Goodyear
unless i wanna buy Z-rated tires at 300+ each
so i rush home - try to find the nearest Sears
and voila - the one in santa monica has em
at 145 each
bah
but luckily they have 9 in stock and only took like 15 mins to get my car up and running
was really badass
so here i am sitting at home - 700 dollars poorer
and still feeling pretty good about it
cuz things worked out really well
cept the 700 dollar thing
but ah well - two things i'll never go cheap on
tires or brakes
the only two things stopping me from dying a horrible death

So today was a pretty shitty day
so let's see
started the day out with slow traffic with four lanes outta five closed on 10
3 car accident
now after we all squeezed through the one free lane
people began to take off
i was going around 75 in the fast lane
and people were still passing me
probably at around 90-95 miles an hour
the whole time i was thinking shit
there's gonna be another accident
then near downtown, where the ten curves
the car in front of me slams his breaks which forces me to do the same
there's no car in front of the guy - so i'm like wtf
then i happen to glance over to the left - and what do i c
the bottom side of an SUV
- flying at me
the suv was sideways in the air (about 4-5 ft up)
the suv lands - and the guy in front and me - kinda bolt off
the guy in front never looks back - but i slow down for a while to survey the accident
suv on it's side - pickup truck all messed up in the front
and there's a person lying on the ground on the freeway
don't know exactly what happened
cuz i guess i caught the tailend of it
just the SUV in the air
actually now - i don't even remember what the suv or truck looks like
just remember seeing it in the air
bought five cars made it through the accident - before everyone had to stop because of all the debris and stuff
so after that i reported to work
laid-off four outta my 7 mechanics
and then went home
what an F-ed up day
sigh
so i am currently buzzed
and surprised i'm not drunk off my ass in a ditch on motor ave.
